As an avid wine-drinker, I’ve always heard that aerating or decanting wine enhances the taste – but I’ve never been certain of the specifics. Do all wines need decanting? Or just certain types and vintages? And really, how complicated does wine-drinking need to be?
Yet after learning about the Wine Soiree In-Bottle Aerator at the 2013 International Home + Housewares Show, I’ve become a believer in aeration. Aeration helps the wine reflect its true characteristics, and this simple glass aerator fits right into the wine bottle opening. Although petite and easy to use, the Soiree aerates as you pour and provides the same effect as a large decanter.
Simply attach the Soiree to the mouth of the wine bottle and pour. A tight seal allows for a drip-free pour and inner divots work to introduce oxygen to the wine. The Soiree works with both red and white wines and can be easily cleaned and stored with the included storage stand.
